Robert Whitaker, bestselling author of “Anatomy of an Epidemic: Magic Bullets, Psychiatric Drugs, and the Astonishing Rise of Mental Illness in America” will present research about the long-term effects of psychiatric medication on outcomes for schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder and children’s mental health. Examples of successful, innovative treatment programs in Europe and the US that use medication in a very selective, limited manner will also be discussed.
